WWE: Controversial end to Hell In A Cell pay-per-view event
Hell stopped with a decision in huge controversy.
If the latter used a sledgehammer the match official called for the match between Universal winner Seth Rollins and The Fiend to end.
Rollins had struck on The Fiend with several of the Stomp finishers, a Pedigree, a chair, a ladder and a tool box at a vicious fight between the group for WWE singles title.
But the referee decided the sledgehammer was a step too far and called for the bell to indicate the conclusion of the game, a decision that did not go with the Sacramento audience.
Although The Fiend overpowered Rollins – and also drew blood – the crowd made their displeasure known with a loud chorus of boos.
The evening Hell In A Cell match also saw when Becky Lynch retained the Raw womens championship against Sasha 32, an outcome that went against the predictions of several.
At a match that was great, weapon-filled, Lynch picked up the win having a Dis-Arm-Her after an Avalanche Bexploder onto a pile of chairs.
The event saw two title changes, with Charlotte Flair when she forced Bayley to tap into the Figure Eight winning her 10th WWE womens name.
Kairi Sane and Asuka are the new womens tag team champions after defeating Nikki Cross along with also Alexa Bliss.
Asuka pinned Cross for the victory after downing her to the face with a spray of sap.
