Sheffield United co-owner Kevin McCabe ordered to sell his share of club to Prince Abdullah
The co-owner Kevin McCabe of sheffield United needs to sell his share of their team Saudi co-owner, Prince Abdullah, a High Court judge has ruled.
McCabe might need to sell his stake Prince Abdullah for # 5m in the Premier League club.
In a hearing that lasted less than a few minutes, Justice Fancourt’s conclusion ended a bitter 18-month lawful struggle for management at Bramall Lane.
After hearing six months of evidence at London’s High Court the judge said McCabe and his company SUL should sell their shares in the club to Prince Abdullah.
The Saudi royal purchased 50 percent of this then-League One club six years back.
In a statement, Prince Abdullah said:“I am thrilled that this decision brings an end to the uncertainty on Sheffield United’s future. The staff and our manager Chris Wilder are off to a promising start and we can concentrate on this crucial Premier League year under possession.
„[…] I am completely committed to continuing investment in the First Team and the Academy and to delivering best practices and the greatest standards of direction to the club.
„I look forward to hearing by the fans, team staff and other stakeholders concerning ways where we can improve the matchday experience and support the community that has so loyally supported us.
„One initiative underway is the unification of the club and its key properties. We want to own our stadium and want to finish this integration within the coming year.“
Justice Fancourt adjourned the case till October 14, after which McCabe would have to decide whether he’s to appeal the decision making of Monday.
