Minnesota Vikings 16-21 Green Bay Packers: Packers hold on in tense NFC North battle
Following the Minnesota Vikings had stormed back from three touchdowns down the Green Bay Packers allowed on to win 21-16.
Aaron Rodgers started hot in the first half, pitching two touchdowns – to Geronimo Allison and Jamaal Williams – while Aaron Jones driven in from 2 yards out to give Green Bay a seemingly insurmountable lead that was 21-0.
However, the Vikings did not lay down.
As they seemed to complete a comeback, their defense shut down Rodgers to the rest of the match, and forced two fumbles.
Immediately after the Packers had taken their lead, Minnesota raced 75 metres to the end zone.
The Vikings came out as the stronger team in the second, after incorporating a Dan Bailey field goal before the half.
Early in the next quarter, a 45-yard spiral was established by Kirk Cousins and that he took it from a guard’s arms for the score.
The shortage stayed at five factors as Diggs was penalised for conduct and Bailey’s extra-point effort has been blocked.
Multiple factors were exchanged by both teams until the Vikings pounded the ball deep to Green Bay territory with Cook and Alexander Mattison directing the way late .
Using a first-and-goal at the lineup, Cousins attempted to force a floated ball at the rear of the end zone to Diggs, and rolled right, but it was intercepted by Kevin King with a spectacular diving catch.
The Vikings had the ball were forced to punt, and the clock rushed down leaving Cousins one closing Hail Mary effort that fell short, when Rodgers saw Davante Adams for a fresh set of downs.
