Juventus‘ Emre Can ’shocked‘ at Champions League omission
Juventus midfielder Emre May says he’s“shocked“ at being left out of this club’s Champions League squad and has indicated he will try to find a move away in the Italian champions in January.
May made 37 appearances for Juventus last year but has found his chances restricted following Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot’s arrival this summer.
This is a surprise omission from the club 22-man squad for the Champions League this year and the German says he would have pushed away from the team to get a movement had he known he would be left out by Maurizio Sarri.
„I’m not in the group for the Champions League which shocked me because I was promised otherwise last week,“ May told Sky at Germany.
„Consequently I wouldn’t have stayed at Juventus, because it was the main condition for me to be a part of this Champions League squad.
„It’s a deep shock for me personally and I can’t understand it. Last year, I played from the Champions League. There has not been any explanation however.
„Juventus phoned me the telephone call was less than one minute and they told me“You are not in the squad.
„I must play in the Champions League, I Wish to play in the Champions League. When I am back, I’ll talk to the club and then we will see what happens.“
