Gary Kirsten to meet Ashley Giles over England head coach role

Gary Kirsten will hold talks over the job of England head coach with ECB director of cricket Ashley Giles on Wednesday, Sky Sports News understands.
Kirsten is the top candidate to replace Trevor Bayliss, who stepped down as head coach after the Ashes series against Australia.
Sky Sports News comprehends the interview procedure is ongoing and Giles is meeting with other hopefuls.
The 51-year-old has past experience of training that is international, having appreciated spells in charge of India and South Africa before in his profession.
Giles has stated that his preference as head trainer for an Englishman, with Chris Silverwood – the fast bowling coach – considered another front-runner due to his experience at Essex.
The Alec Stewart of surrey is also linked with the function, as has Englands batting trainer Graham Thorpe and Ireland coach Graham Ford.
Giles will aspire to appoint a new head coach in time for Englands tour of New Zealand, that starts with a T20 international in Christchurch on November 1.
