Eben Etzebeth accused of physical and racial abuse in South Africa
The South African Rugby Union has started a discreetinternal process using Springboks lock Eben Etzebeth over allegations he physically and racially abused a person in South Africa prior to the Rugby World Cup.
SA Rugbys announcement comes a day after the Southern African Human Rights Commission declared it would take Etzebeth to an equality court on the allegations on Friday. Etzebeth has denied abuse or any attack.
SA Rugby havent affirmed if Etzebeth would nevertheless play at a World Cup match on Friday against Italy, the same day that the Human Rights Commission says it will start court proceedings against him.
The signs are that Etzebeth will play and remain at the championship in Japan.
The case relates to your night outside in the city of Langebaan in August if Etzebeth was in a pub with family members and friends.
He has been accused of abusing and attacking a person, who then complained to the Human Rights Commission.
SA Rugby says its been in communication with the Human Rights Commission and hasinstituted an internal procedure to address the matter, the details of which remain an employment affair between SA Rugby and also the player.
Equality courts operate such as judges in South Africa. No charges are filed against Etzebeth.
