Down legend Eamonn Burns passes away

Down GAA have announced the death of former manager and participant Eamonn Burns.
Led the side between 2018 and 2016, directing them into the Ulster in his midst season at the helm, in. He resigned from the role this past year to Cavan.
As a player, he began in both of the Sam Maguire Cup victories of those Mourne County against Dublin and Meath, in 1991 and 1994 .
In a statement Wednesday afternoon, Down GAA announced the information:
Today the world of Down GAA was rocked by the unhappy news that one of our most preferred sons Eamonn Burns has passed away unexpectedly. Eamonn was a All Ireland Medal winner and a former County Senior Team Manager. To Colum and sister Mary, Sons Cathal and Thomas, brothers Malachy and his wife Sinead we extend our deepest and heartfelt empathy.
Eamonn has been a fantastic ambassador for Down as a participant and as a supervisor. He was among the men that are good , always about the larger good, always selfless with his time and just trying to give he undertook. Down GAA have been privileged to have Eamonn Burns amongst our sonsthat we were given by him as supporters several magical moments, he also brought a smile to our faces and in these times of 1991 and 1994 he helped bring us glory times.
Eamonn has already been obtained from us too soon, well miss you Eamonn but well grin in the memory of those days that you just gave us. You were a genuine son of Down.
