Down legend Eamonn Burns passes away

Down GAA have announced the sudden death of former director and All-Ireland winning player Eamonn Burns.
Burns, who was 56, directed the side between 2018 and 2016, directing them to the Ulster in his at the helm, where they lost to Tyrone. He stepped down from the role this past year from the qualifiers to Cavan following the tournament loss.
As a player, he started in the Sam Maguire Cup victories of those Mourne County against Dublin and Meath, in 1991 and 1994 .
In a statement Wednesday afternoon, Down GAA declared the information:
Today the area of Down GAA was rocked by the sad news that one of the most favourite sons Eamonn Burns has passed away unexpectedly. Eamonn was a Ireland Medal winner and also a County Senior Team Manager. To his wife Sinead, Sons Cathal and Thomas, brothers Malachy and Colum and sister Mary we extend our deepest and heartfelt sympathy.
Eamonn has been a wonderful ambassador for Down for a player and as a manager. He was among the guys that are good , always regarding the higher good, only and always selfless with his time needing to offer his best in almost virtually any task he undertook. Down GAA have been privileged to possess Eamonn Burns he gave us as supporters several minutes, he brought a smile to our faces and in these times of 1994 and 1991 he helped bring us.
Eamonn has already been removed from us too soon, we will miss you Eamonn however we will grin in the memory of the days that you gave us. Youre a genuine son of Down.
