Champion Chase at Down Royal for Kemboy

Willie Mullins is currently leaning towards letting Kemboy make his reappearance in the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal.

The seven-year-old made remarkable progress last year, with victories in the Clonmel Oil and Savills Chase during the first half of this effort causing a shot in the Cheltenham Gold Cup to him.
Before beating his Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning stablemate Al Boum Photo at Punchestown beneath the Ruby Walsh he also unseated his rider soon after the fence at Prestbury Park, but bounced back with a dominant display at Aintree.
Kemboy is a favorite to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup at the next attempt, also Mullins hopes to see him return to activity in Northern Ireland on November 2.
He said:We have put him into the race at Down Royal and we will observe how hes working. Its so much so good and Im quite pleased with what hes doing at home.
In the moment were going towards Down Royal. I believe the track will be handled by him up there along with the ground. I primarily thought of the ground because of him. I understand the ground can become quite soft up there, but more often than not that the floor is great.
I didnt want to enter some other horses to the race and rush them . This fellow comes right a bit faster and it is a wonderful race to target him .
Plans are liquid for Al Boum Photo, whereas Mullins is pondering where and if to attract Klassical Dream back into actions.
The latter won all his four starts last season – like the Supreme Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham – and hes a favorite following March to provide a fifth Champion Hurdle success to his trainer.
Al Boum Photo is great and I am really happy with the progress he is making, said Mullins.
I do not really know where I will start him. Before I start off him, I want to find some great cut in winter weather and the ground. Earn a plan when the opportunity arises and I wish to keep him training.
Klassical Fantasy could head to Down Royal (WKD Hurdle), but Id say that the Morgiana in Punchestown is much more likely where well start him off.
Hes been very good in the home.
