Four Bulgaria fans arrested for subjecting England gamers to racist abuse happen to be fined 1,000 Bulgarian lev (#443) and prohibited from sports events for a couple of decades.
England Euro 2020 qualifier win in Sofia on Monday was stopped twice in the first half following racist chanting by home fans.
The four fans were punished with police – as opposed to the nations courts – under Bulgarias legislation to theprotection of public order through sports events.
Another fan was arrested on Wednesday, bringing the entire number detained to seven.
Among those seven is a minor, the Bulgaria Ministry of Interior told BBC Sport.
President of Bulgarias soccer association, borislav Mikhailov, resigned Tuesday.
Bulgaria manager Krasimir Balakov said following the match hedid not hear any chanting, with formerly accused England of owning a bigger racism issue.
But Balakov later posted an announcement on Facebook, admitting the episodes on Monday along with apologising toEnglish footballers and to all those who believed offended.
I condemn all forms of racism as an unacceptable behaviour that contradicts normal human connections, he added.
Bulgarian legend Hristo Stoichkov became emotional when he had been requested on tv to avoid a similar event. He recommended thatfans arent allowed in the scene or even [face] thicker punishments.
