Former captain Misbah-ul-Haq has been appointed chief selector and Pakistan’s new head coach.
The 45-year-old matches the job vacated by Mickey Arthur, after they failed to reach the World Cup semi-finals, whose contract wasn’t renewed.
Skipper and paceman Waqar Younis is the bowling coach.
„I know expectations are equally high, but I am absolutely ready and up for the task,“ said Misbah, who scored 5,222 runs in 75 Tests in an average of 46.6.

A Pakistan Cricket Board committee interviewed Pakistan coach Mohsin Khan and former Australian batsman Dean Jones before committing Misbah a three-year deal.
