Eddie Jones says Scotland cannot blame Typhoon Hagibis for potential Rugby World Cup exit
If they are knocked out of their World Cup by Super Typhoon Hagibis eddie Jones has familiarity.
When their game against hosts Japan on Sunday is cancelled due to the approaching cyclone, the Scots will lose out on the quarter-finals.
Englands battle with France and New Zealands game against Italy have been called off and Jones has limited sympathy for Gregor Townsends guys, given that all teams knew that the possibility of extreme weather events to intervene.
England secured excellence with a match to spare and Jones explained:We have been discussing it all of the time, in regards to the chance that this was going to take place.
It is typhoon season. You know what is going to occur. It is typhoon period here and youve got to be ready for it.
We had a notion it could occur and thus you have to collect points in your matches to place yourself in the right place in case that happened.
We only knew there was the possibility of a game such as this throughout the tournament so we only wanted to place ourselves in the very best place we can.
This is supposed to become quite a big typhoon, therefore I dont find any other alternative that the organisers had. That is the reason why were not worried in any respect about the comings and goings of it, we think its the perfect choice.
New Zealand head coach Steve Hansen has echoed Jones view.
We have to back World Rugbys conclusion and when other teams miss out, its unfortunate, it is going to be unsatisfactory, Hansen explained.
If you would like to be really callous, then its all about making sure you win the games on the way through because everybody understood this could be a possibility.
