Sheffield United co-owner Kevin McCabe ordered to sell his share of club to Prince Abdullah
The co-owner Kevin McCabe of sheffield United needs to promote his share of the team for Saudi co-owner, Prince Abdullah, a High Court judge has ruled.
McCabe will have to sell his stake Prince Abdullah for # 5m from the Premier League club.
In a hearing that lasted less than a few minutes, Justice Fancourt’s conclusion ended a bitter 18-month lawful struggle for management at Bramall Lane.
After hearing six weeks of proof in the High Court of London the judge stated his company SUL and McCabe should sell their stocks.
The Saudi royal bought 50 percent of this One team for #1 six years ago, promising to fund the running of their club for three decades.
In a statement, Prince Abdullah said:“I am delighted that this decision brings an end to the uncertainty over Sheffield United’s future. Our supervisor Chris Wilder and the staff are off to a promising start and we can now concentrate under possession.
„[…] I am completely committed to continuing investment in the First Team and the Academy and to delivering best practices and the highest standards of direction to the golf team.
„I look forward to hearing by the fans, club staff and other stakeholders concerning ways in which we can enhance the matchday experience and support that the community that has loyally supported us.
„One initiative underway is that the unification of the club and its key properties. We want to have our stadium and intend to complete this integration within the upcoming year.“
Justice Fancourt adjourned the case until October 14, after which McCabe would have to determine whether he’s to appeal Monday’s decision making.
