Gary Kirsten to meet Ashley Giles over England head coach role

Gary Kirsten will hold discussions over the empty function of England head coach with ECB director of cricket Ashley Giles on Wednesday, Sky Sports News understands.
Kirsten is the top candidate to substitute Trevor Bayliss, who stepped down after the Ashes series.
Sky Sports News knows the interview procedure is ongoing and Giles can also be meeting with other hopefuls.
The 51-year-old has experience of training that is international, having appreciated spells accountable for India and South Africa earlier in his career.
Giles has stated his preference for the Englishman as head coach, together with Chris Silverwood – that the present bowling coach – regarded another front-runner because of his adventure at Essex.
Surreys Alec Stewart is also linked with the role, as has England trainer Graham Thorpe and Ireland coach Graham Ford.
Giles will aspire to appoint a new head coach in time for Englands tour of New Zealand, which starts on November 1 with a global in Christchurch.
