Kick It Out appoint Sanjay Bhandari, equality expert and Man Utd fan, as new chair
Manchester United fan Sanjay Bhandari and equality expert has been validated as the new seat of football organisation Kick Out.
Bhandari – before moving to leadership and advisory roles, that worked for 15 years as an attorney – succeeds Lord Ouseley, who founded the business .
„I’m absolutely delighted to join the Board of Kick It Out as its Chair,“ said Bhandari.
„I’ve been a soccer fan all my life and also a vocal advocate for the inclusion. I’m passionate about helping football for a game where individuals of all backgrounds feel welcome and added to the pitch from the terraces, to the boardroom.
„I feel blessed to have the opportunity to build on the team’s good work over many decades, and look forward to setting out my vision for equality football in the months beforehand.“
In their new appointment, Kick Out It said:“An active and recognized leader of equality, diversity and inclusion practice, Sanjay has been part of the Premier League’s Equality Standard Independent Panel for four years.
„He is a part of the Government-sponsored Parker review to the ethnic diversity of UK planks.
„For three successive years from 2017, he had been appointed among Financial Times‘ EMpower 100 cultural minority leaders and in 2016, as one of the top 100 most influential BAME people in business from the inaugural Upstanding Executive Power List.
„Sanjay is excited to have the job and is about to build and enlarge on the hugely significant work Kick Out It was doing so to function for equality in football for at least 25 decades.“
Bhandari’s appointment comes after a string of incidents of abuse directed at the start of this season towards EFL gamers and also Premier League.
Tammy Abraham, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Mohamed Salah are among those people who have been targeted up to now during the 2019/20 campaign.
